Best Concealed Carry Holster Reviews

Awesome American made product!

I got my new Air Marshal 3 in the mail today and I had to tell you I am very impressed. I have been in Corrections for 22 years and am a firearms instructor. I teach concealed carry classes to get your concealed permit in Utah. This is the only comfortable holster I have tried that I can wear with a t-shirt and gym shorts and still carry concealed comfortably. I am going to recommend your holster to my students and staff at work. I ordered a natural in Large and I am going to order a black one very soon and use as an example in my classes. I just wanted to commend you on a awesome American made product!

Thanks and I will be back for more purchases!

Holds up incredibly to the heat, sand and all the sweat!

Holds up incredibly to the heat, sand and all the sweat!

Due to the dangers of 'green-on-blue' attacks, my team and I must keep our issued Beretta M9's on our person at all times. The heavy and bulky M9 doesn't lend itself to daily carry, but our Air Marshal 3 holsters are the most comfortable carry method we have found while keeping the heavy pistol secure. Withstanding the roughest conditions, the Air Marshal 3 holds up incredibly to the heat, sand and all the sweat! My team includes several Texas Peace officers and we can't recommend these highly enough for concealed carry back home!

A funny side note and further endorsement to how well your holster conceal our issued M9's - We have Sergeant Majors walking around gigging soldiers for not having their weapons on their person. Your holsters are driving one in particular nuts! He will come running up, thinking he has found a victim to berate, only to have to back down when he finds out we have it tucked neatly away! We don't have much in the way of entertainment here so when this happens it is always a big hit!

Thanks again! The holster was great with every type of wear. It was comfortable with easy access. I have recommended it to all of my crew! The pic is with a few of my Pakistani Commando friends in Islamabad Pakistan.

Retained gun through motorcycle crash

Retained gun through motorcycle crash

Thought I’d give you yet another example of how well the KANGAROO Air Marshall holds and retains your firearm during extremes.

On Dec 27th, I crashed a 2012 Gold Wing returning from Matagorda on slick roads and totaled it. Fortunately, I only ended up with band aids. When the sheriff showed up he asked for a driver’s license and when I handed it to him, he began to walk away and I had to call him back to give him my CHL. He said, did you happen to bring it with you and I said, Yes Sir, he then said do you happen to have it on your person and I said Yes Sir…..That was the only conversation mention during the exchange between me the sheriff and the DPS who actually handled the accident scene. The only thing I later found as I exited the DPS car when going to retrieve my insurance card was a shiny object on the ground, (my spare magazine). I don’t remember much of the actual accident, however, I do know it flipped at least once (me on it I assume), as there was plastic pieces up and down the road.

Just wanted to say that it never dislodged/unstrapped or fell out of the holster. Now to get one for the right side when riding the bike. I’ll catch you at the next gun show.

Inarguably THE best holster available

Inarguably THE best holster available

I am writing to thank you for creating what is inarguably THE best holster available. I have been searching far and wide for the perfect holster, and am pleased to say that I finally found the perfection I was looking for in your Kangaroo Holster. My issue was not only about comfort, but also about finding a holster that would fit a Chiappa Rhino 200D (which the Kangaroo fits with seamlessly).

Many other holsters I have tried did not fit well with the Rhino, which forced me to alter them. But even then they were still uncomfortable. I am so very happy with the Kangaroo and love that it can be worn in different ways. This is very important for women! I've added the pictures below to show how I've been wearing the holster, and more importantly, to show the conceal-ability. Many women who carry have to contend with finding a perfect "spot" to conceal in addition to being fashion conscious. I'm hoping that my experience will help with other women who contact you with questions before they buy a Kangaroo.

Will be telling others about your outstanding product. Thanks for assisting me before I purchased the holster and before I forget, thanks for the super-fast shipping as well.

Sincerely,
Happy Customer

This is the ticket

I have bought many holsters over the last 50 years and I must say this is the ticket. I have never had a holster to compliment casual clothing such as this product. You go guys!!

Finally I can carry a firearm in which I trust my life

Just letting you guys know that I received my Air-Marshal holster and couldn't be more pleased at how well I can conceal a full size Glock 21. Finally I can carry a firearm in which I trust my life instead of a questionable .380.

My father and I will be purchasing additional holsters in the near future.

Excellent customer service...quality product

Just got my holster, wanted to thank you for your excellent customer service and for making a quality product. This is by far one of the best under the shirt holsters I have seen. I will most likely get another so I will not be without one on wash day.

Felt like I was not carrying my gun at all

I just received my Air Marshal 3 holster and it is by far the most comfortable conceal carry holster I have used. I put it on at 4:00 AM with a Ruger New Vaquero Montado .45LC revolver and worked my usual 12 hour day with it on ( I manage a horse and Animal Rescue) And felt like I was not carrying my gun at all. Truly amazing holster.

Couldn't be any happier with the fit, feel, and craftsmanship

I e-mailed your company a few weeks back, asking what holster would be best for my gun. I wanted to say that I received a quick response and ordered a Standard 2 in the following days. I received my holster and couldn't be any happier with the fit, feel, and craftsmanship.I had tried a ton of different holsters and nothing was working or fitting correctly. I am disabled and anytime I go anywhere I am in a wheelchair. I can't thank you enough for providing the perfect option for someone in my situation. I rave about the holster to everyone.

Thank you again,
Ryan S.

Most comfortable holster I have ever used

After some prosecutor friends of mine raved about your holster style, I went and looked at them on your website. They looked like a good idea, but I was hesitant to drop $50.00 on a holster that I couldn't touch, feel, pull on, twist, etc., before buying it. Yesterday I saw your booth at the Fort Worth Gun Show and stopped by to talk. You showed me how it worked and it didn't take long to decide that I wanted to give one a try. Bought it, took it home, and spent the rest of the afternoon and evening wearing it around the house with different handguns.

Here's the bottom line... police officers are known for having closets full of holsters because they are always looking for the perfect one - the one that provides complete comfort, total weapon control, and fast access for a draw in any emergency situation. After 30 years law enforcement, and spending countless dollars in the quest for the perfect holster, I'm done looking . . . your "Standard II" fit the bill. It's by for the most comfortable holster I have ever used.

Thanks a ton!

Works like a charm...comfortable all day

Just wanted to let you know that I tried out my Kangaroo Standard holster yesterday for the first time. I'm small in stature so I have trouble finding a holster that conceals well and is comfortable. This one is both. Placed my Sig P938 in there, got it adjusted with the included pins, and it conceals very well and works like a charm. I found it comfortable all day. Next up is to try it out with my Colt Officer's Model. Thanks for a great product.

Wowzers! What more can you ask for?

A bit back I purchased a Kangaroo Carry for my Webley.

Very comfortable and well worth the money. I look forward to using more of your products.

I had an auto emergency where I needed to jack up the low riding vehicle and remove the starter in a do or die area. Forgot I had the KC with the WEBLEY strapped on and jacked up the vehicle, pulled the starter, rolled around in the dirt & gravel, walked to town, bought a new one, walked back, rolled around again in the dirt, put it on and went down the road. That night when taking off my shirt I remembered my WEBLEY. It was in place and never gave me any problem. Wowzers!

What more can you ask for?

Intelligent design, comfortable to wear, durable

I just got your Air Marshall 3 and I love it. For over 20 years I have been looking for a comfortable way to conceal carry here in Florida; the Air Marshall 3 is the answer. I just showed it to a friend who also has a CC Permit…he will be ordering one as well. Intelligent design, comfortable to wear, durable…what more could you ask for. Buy one, you will love it.

Thank you for HONEST pricing. How refreshing!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your fair shipping charges. Having a husband who works for FedEx, it always really burns me to pay a chunk knowing full well that it's padded to the hilt to make up for poor product pricing.

Thank you for HONEST pricing. How refreshing!

This is a great product

A friend of mine stopped by with one of your holsters. I really liked the concept so Tom told me to try out the holster for a few days. Not wanting to wear his holster personal holster I refused to accept his offer. But Tom insisted and after three days of wearing it everywhere I have to tell you that this is a great product. As a retired law officer, I have worked under cover on more than one occasion, wishing that I has a better way to carry my snub nose 38 special. Better late than never!

200% better than the eBay cheapie I bought

Just to let you know that both holsters arrived today! I am down with my back BUT I was able to hobble out to the mail box, unpack them on the dining room table and have the Air Marshal on right now with my Springfield XDs 45! This IS a very comfortable holster and the quality is 200% better than the ebay cheapie I bought (not downing anyone, just stating facts). And, you have thought of everything. From the adjustable shoulder strap to the high quality velcro to the nice elastic AND the pins and extra loop material! And you sell this for under 50 bucks??!! Fantastic!

What I really like about this holster (and mind you I've worn a gun for over 25 years) is that I don't have to have an untucked shirt to cover my rear, or have the dang gun poking me in the kidney or need to buy larger waist pants to fit the holster! I have literally spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on holsters and OWB was the most comfortable I could find, but you had to have a cover material. I do like my Ankle Rig, but can only pack a snubbie in it and well, we know the time restraints on an ankle rig. With your holster, I can wear my Columbia Fishing shirts and no one is the wiser! I don't have to worry about printing or the wind blowing my shirt up revealing my holstered weapon.

AND, I can wear it despite my back being out of whack! Try that with a belt holster!

I am very impressed with both holsters. Again, thank you very much for the super customer service and a super high quality rig! You guys are fantastic!

BTW: for kicks and giggles, I stuck my Glock 17 in the Air Marshal holster pouch....oh yeah...it works too!

– Tom

Can't imagine a better solution

Thank you so much for cheerfully exchanging my Medium Air Marshall for Large Standard II. What great customer service and what a great holster. I carry a Beretta Nano, business casual dress, tucked shirt. Conceals nicely and very comfortable even in our 100+ degree heat. Can't imagine a better solution for my particular situation.

Thanks again for your great product and customer service.

The Air Marshall is so comfortable that I wear it to bed

Per your recommendations, I did purchase the Air Marshall for myself. Love it, I'm happy, great product! That method of carry, especially for summertime, allows me to have greater versatility of dressing around my firearm. Now I can wear those fashionable shorter waist jackets/sweaters/cardigans/boleros, over a longer length untucked blouse, and feel/look feminine while knowing the means to protect myself is not too far away. I was delighted when I went shopping yesterday, that I was able to try on jackets/cardigans etc. right there in the aisle without my carry being visible like the butt is in my IWB. My personal preference is to wear something over my basic blouse, to keep my arms covered and to better cleverly camouflage certain tummy bulge. The Air Marshall is so comfortable that I wear it to bed…and being able to access with cross-draw when driving is also an advantage over my usual strong-hand IWB covered by a 3-pt seat belt.

My husband was very eager to have me open my package when it arrived within two days of my internet order (wow to that speed!). He tried mine on, and even though my size was very snug on him, he could tell the comfort & discrete factor was enough to convince him to have me order the next size up in the Air Marshall the same day I received mine. I myself was shocked and pleased how his full-size carry was very nicely hidden inside the Air Marshall.

It's been several days now that my husband has worn his Air Marshall; he is very pleased with your innovative product. Thanks for a great functional product.

The stitching and cotton fabric is top notch

Thanks for a great product...this holster makes it very nice and comfortable for my Kimber Tactical Ultra2 which is a 3" 1911. The stitching and cotton fabric is top notch and the hook and loop material on the elastic bands is very secure just like he says in the videos. I highly recommend this holster.

Comfort is unbelievable

Just got my holster and I can not believe how well it is made. After wearing the smart carry, I thought that I would try out the Kanagroo hoster to see if there was any difference between them. The Kanagroo holster wins by a mile. Comfort is unbelievable. Great holster and great company.

Will be getting the word out to my fellow soldiers

I just wanted to say thanks again for making the Air Marshal 3 holster I already love it. It really sits up high just where I like it. I could not ask for a better holster and definitely will be getting the word out to my fellow soldiers.

Air Marshal 3: Best holster I have seen for conceal carry purposes

Note from Kangaroo Carry: The following is the text from the original article at Thoughts of Reason or Insanity

For those of you out there that conceal carry or has wanted to with the proper licensing and training, found a GREAT holster to check out from a company called kangaroo carry. It actually just hit stores today! If you are already familiar with their holsters, this is the third generation of the Air Marshal holster. Wore it this weekend and talked with owner of company and it is a great product! I am not going to rewrite his information which is very thorough on actual product at Air Marshal, but wanted to give my endorsement of the product.

He recommends getting a black and white holster but if you are just going to get one I would recommend the white so it will blend in with light colored garments, guess if you are going to really use this thing a ton in dusty and/or hot environments it might be better to get two so that the black one can be used most of the time and limit how much you need to wash white. Also due to its cotton construction it is comfortable but will stay wet with sweat so depending on your environment and your job/security requirements you might want two so that you can alternate them for a wear and dry cycle. Great product and is the real deal!

Fell asleep in it!

Just wanted to let you know that I received the new holster yesterday. I wore it all evening yesterday and didn't even notice I had it on. I even fell asleep on the couch for a bit with it on. This was definitely a great decision/purchase.

Recommending it to all my students

I teach conceal carry classes here in Oklahoma. I show the kangaroo carry holster at each session. I am getting to the point I don't even use my leather holster anymore. I do like the holster I purchased from you and will continue recommending it to all my students for concealed carry. I might end up buying another from you because mine is outdated compared to your newer ones, and getting worn now.

Thank You for making it.

Kangaroo CCH is my new choice

I've been a wearer of the Kramer T since the early 80's. I've had to order the Kramer 2 sizes smaller to keep the weapon from sagging outward which made it uncomfortable at the arm pit with the material there binding in that area. The Kangaroo with the cotton elastic and velcro fasteners lets me keep it tight yet not restrictive. Being adjustable is a plus.

With a mid sized or compact firearm Glock 19 or KAHR CW9 it fits perfectly in the Kangaroo Carry Air Marshal, but with the sub-compact smaller caliber like the LCP or P3AT, they'll almost gets lost in the holster. I'm back to under arm deep cover carry with comfort. I wasn't real impressed with what I saw initially (looked kinda like a belly band) but, once on, I'm totally sold.

I wear mine high up close under the arm pit for better conceal ability. I can actually put my LCP in the band in the side of my chest ( where spare mag was designed to fit ) and it disappears and it's not uncomfortable.

– Dennis

My officers ACP fits perfect in the holster

I just purchased the kangaroo holster for deep conceal carry and I have to admit it is the most comfortable underarm type holster I have tried to date. I have been using a belly band type for underarm but it becomes uncomfortable after a few hours of wear. The Kangaroo Carry on the other hand has been as comfy as the moment I strapped it in place at 7 a.m. this morning and it is 5 now in the afternoon. My officers ACP fits perfect in the holster as well and DOES NOT PRINT!

– Mel

I will recommend this product to everyone

On day one when I recieved my Kangaroo Carry Standard model holster it was so easy to put on and I was very pleased with how comfortable it was to wear, my Kel-Tech P11 and my S&W model 60 fit the holster perfect, concealment under my shirt was awesome, I will recommend this product to everyone.

– James H.

...the most comfortable concealment holster I have ever worn, period!

I bought one of your "Air Marshal" holsters a week and a half ago. I have worn it every day since. It was everything you said it was and so much more.

This is the most comfortable "shoulder holster" (if you can call it that) I have ever worn. No make that the most comfortable concealment holster I have ever worn period!

It is so nice to carry a full size hand gun (Springfield XDm 40S&W 3.8) again. I now have a very accurate hand gun with 32 rounds (extra mag on the other side) with me at all times. And when it gets dirty, you just throw it in the washer! Try that with a hand made leather holster. (Note from Us @ Kangaroo: we recommend hand washing and laying flat to dry only!)

Not only that, but as you said, you don't need any kind of cover garment, coat, vest or other "giveaway" clothing.

Something you didn't say, remember that story in the news where a guy dropped his handgun in a Walmart bathroom? Never will be a problem with the Kangaroo Carry Holster.

You make an excellent product and I have recommended it to all my CHL friends.

This is an amazing company

Just wanted to let you know that I received the new holster yesterday (size Large), and you are correct, I like it much better now that it fits :-)

I wore it all evening yesterday and didn't even notice I had it on. I even fell asleep on the couch for a bit with it on. This was definitely a great decision/purchase.

I appreciate your offer of keeping the XL, but I would like to return it to you. My shooting buddies all have the same build that I do, so I think a Large would fit them better. Once they see my holster I'm sure they'll want one as well. I will definitely be ordering more holsters from you in the very near future. I'm going to go ahead and sew the holster to "custom fit" my Beretta Nano, and I'll need another for my other carry gun. But Austin, I really appreciate the offer and everything you've done for me. This is an amazing company.

– Jon M.

It is everything you said it would be

Received my Air Marshal II on Thursday, 1-19-2012. It is everything you said it would be. I can now carry my Smith model 19 .357 2.5" very comfortably. I now have a rig that I can conceal my gun and be comfortable at the same time. I am very pleased with the Kangaroo Holster. Thank you!!

It makes your gun disappear!

I bought my first Air Marshall from Austin at a gun show a couple of years ago. I just placed my order for my second. It does exactly what he says it will. You will not find a more comfortable, easy to access holster anywhere. It makes your gun disappear! I carry a Walther PPS in it daily. I have also carried a full sized 1911 in it as well as a Bersa .380 thunder under a dress shirt and a tie.. BUY IT!

– David W.

I forget that I have it on

Although I ordered the wrong size (shoulda got the Air-Marshal) I am well pleased with the Kangaroo Standard II. It is comfortable to a point that I forget that I have it on. Being a custom leather holster maker, I am familiar with quality when I see it. Your holster passes the test and we leather holster makers may be soon out of business if word gets out about these Kangaroo's!!!!!!!!!! Anyways, I will order a Air Marshal II soon as the bill loosen up a tad. Thanks for a great product. Semper-Fi

– Mike H.

I love it!

A friend of mine has a Kangaroo and was very pleased with it (and I was surprised at how it worked very well).

So after talking to him, I ordered your Air Marshal 2 since I conceal carry a FN 5.7 or a Glock model 22. Most of the time I use a belt holster. The few shoulder holsters I tried just didn't feel right (especially with the FN).

I love it! the only problem I have is the mag carrier on the other side, since my 5.7 mags are larger than the ave mag it doesn't work for me..other than that, I'm happy. Great job!

– Mark W.

I can carry the 457 for hours in it without a problem

Just wanted to let you know that I've posted a small testimonial for your holster on the www.defensivecarry.com website. A user had posted that he was having a lot of pain trying to carry IWB, and I had the same problem for a long time, until I changed to a Kangaroo Air Marshal holster, so I gave him this recommendation:

"To the OP,
Yup, I'm right there with ya! For months, I tried to carry IWB (using a proper gunbelt) in various positions, and had nothing but constant pain. Sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on the position of the holster, and what I was doing, but always painful.

I tried to tell myself that it wasn't that bad, and thought about that very expression to try to work thru the pain. I went from trying a S&W 457, to a S&W 3913, to a KelTec PF-9, thinking that if I could find a pistol light enough/small enough that it would work.

It got to the point that, not only could I not wear IWB, but I couldn't wear a belt at all; went to using suspenders to keep my pants up!

Part of the reason for all that pain was some tenderness in my kidneys from several operations; in fact, I just had another kidney operation two weeks ago, so I doubt I'll ever be able to wear an IWB holster for any more than an hour or so.

Anyway, all of this is relevant since I do have a suggestion for you...Kangaroo Concealed Carry Holster. If you're not familiar with it, it's a kind of hybrid of a shoulder holster and a belly band, but doesn't have the bad factors of either. I can carry the 457 for hours in it without a problem; same with either of the other two pistols. It looks kinda goofy, but I wear it over a t-shirt, and under a dress shirt, and no one (except my wife) ever sees it.

It's not as fast in the draw as a traditional IWB holster at 3 o'clock, but I can draw from concealment and hit a 4" circle with 3 shots from 6 yards in about 3.6 seconds on average (my average for the 3 o'clock draw is about 2.8 seconds), so it's not bad.

And it's inexpensive, so trying it out won't break the bank.

If you want more info on how I set it up, let me know in a PM.

I have no connection to Kangaroo, but I love that holster!"

Just thought you might want to know...

Wonderful improvement over all the other holsters I own

I did not know how to leave feedback so i thought i would just send you a email. I recieved the standard model today and just wanted to say you make a fine product. Now I have not tested it for long term use yet but I can tell its going to be a wondeful improvement over all the other holsters I own. Bottom line it does what its suppost to do AND IT'S COMFORTABLE. Also, its made in the USA so that right there is a bonus. I will be ordering another in the future for my .357 thanks again for making a great prduct!

To my complete surprise, dear wife will now carry

First off, let me state I have absolutely no business relationship with Kangaroo Carry - these are my unsolicited opinions.

Kangroo Carry had a display at the TCHA annual meeting last weekend and I have been curious about their products so wife and tried on a sample. Wow - we bought three different models. I've been wearing my M&P 9 compact the entire week, day and evening, in the Standard II model. It took about a full day to get used to the rig, at first I thought there is no way I'm going to like this, but sure enough after a day or two, I rarely know it's there.

When I was carrying IWB/OWB at 3:30 I had to keep my shirt from blowing open and had to be careful when pulling my iPhone out of its case (same side as the holster) so I didn't expose the carry. And as all of you know, there are certain issues when taking that pottie break. I usually pulled the gun out of the holster to make the process a little easier.

Also when driving with IWB/OWB at 3:30 position, there was a little discomfort, not that bad, but I thought how difficult it would be to draw from that position with a fastened seat belt. One other aspect I just thought of is after carrying on my hip for several hours, I would get a little tired I suppose in the hip area - it was noticeable after several hours of carry. No such issues with the Kangaroo.

To my complete surprise, dear wife will now carry the Ruger SR40 in the Air Marshall holster. The SR40 is a fairly large pistol for those not familiar with its size. She likes the SR40 but before the Kangaroo, there was no easy way for her to carry it on-person. This morning she had the SR40 on but the polo shirt was a little too tight and the Ruger's handle butt wasn't concealing so she switched to the Micro with the little Sig P238.

One thing I don't like is trying to carry a spare double stack magazine in the belt part - it pokes me and it really isn't that comfortable, so the spare mag goes in the pants pocket. The single stack Sig magazine does work great in the Kangaroo mag pouch.

YMMV, but the Kangaroo is now my primary carry holster of choice. The other various holsters we have (IWB/OWB/Remora) will still be used sometimes, so they will remain in the duty-ready position.

FYI: My body size is average - not tall, not short, not fat, not thin. Wife has the typical female short torso.

– John & Jane C.

My wife didn't know I was armed

Since our department changed our off duty policy six months ago I have worn the Air Marshal everyday from the when I dressed in the morning until I undress at night. Even my wife didn't know I was armed for the first two months. I admit I had to maneuver a bit when she came to hug me but day in and day out I have never had anyone spot my concealment and that is from wearing a tux to wearing a tee shirt. The comfort and ease of movement began the first day and now I feel naked without it. Thanks for a great American product.

– Jack H.

I am very pleased!

Just got my Air Marshal II in the mail a few hours ago. I have my Beretta M9 and an extra mag in it right now. Minimal adjustment to get it to feel good. I am very pleased. High quality stiching and well made. Didn't think it would feel or work so well when I first took it out of the package, but I am plesantly surprised. Many thanks!

"It is a dandy way to carry a weapon" – Jeff Quinn (Gunblast.com)

It has been almost seven years now since I first reviewed the Kangaroo Shoulder Holster. Since that time, I have received a lot of positive feedback from users of that unique holster, and only one negative, so that is a very good thing. If I recommend something, and it is no good, I hear about it. The one negative had to do with the delivery of the product through a mix-up somewhere, and was not a criticism of the holster itself.

Anyway, Kangaroo has now expanded their line to include holsters that fit just about any handgun that one might want to conceal, from the smallest semi-autos and mini revolvers to the duty-sized high-capacity weapons favored by many who choose to go heeled. Sizes are now available from small to 4XL to fit any body size, and any body shape. The holster works very well for both women and men. The Kangaroo holsters now have compartments for handcuffs, flashlights, and extra magazines, depending upon the model chosen. As always, the Kangaroo holsters are still made from breathable, soft cotton for wear next to the user’s skin, if desired. It is a dandy way to carry a weapon, and works pretty much with any type of clothing that has more coverage than a Brazilian bikini. These holsters are adjustable for fit and comfort, and are still priced below forty bucks for the most expensive model, and that price includes shipping. Back in 2004, we were not doing videos, so we have added that as well, to show that with the Kangaroo, hiding a full-sized weapon is no problem at all. Check out the Kangaroo shoulder holster online at www.kangaroocarry.com or call 713-77-CRIME.

A part of my duties as the Feature Editor of Gunblast is to sort through the many products that are brought to my attention as the possible subject of an article. Some are useful, interesting, new, nostalgic, or some combination of these attributes. Other products are flimsy, stupid, useless, or cheap, and are sometimes a combination of all of these features.

When the Kangaroo shoulder holster was brought to my attention, I thought that it would fall into the latter category. I have seen numerous belly band holsters at gun shows, and have even tried a couple of them. They are usually made of elastic, and are very uncomfortable and hot. They also work their way down due to gravity as one goes about his daily routine, and are in need of constant adjustment. I find bellyband holsters to be pretty much useless for my needs. I initially thought that the Kangaroo holster was just another bellyband, but I did agree to give it a look.

Upon my first inspection of the Kangaroo holster, I immediately noticed that the thing is not made of elastic, but of cotton, which is left in its natural unbleached condition. The holster has two elastic adjustment straps where the Velcro attaches the ends, and that is plenty elastic to allow a bit of adjustment if wearing over an insulated undergarment. The rest of the holster is all cotton. The natural cotton is very comfortable, and can be worn with or without another garment underneath. It is washable just like any other piece of cotton underwear. It is made to be worn next to the skin, and becomes softer with use. For photographic purposes, I wore the holster over a t-shirt to spare our readers the sight of my hairy body (Ed. Note - Thanks, Jeff! - Boge). I have been wearing this holster intermittently next to my skin, and it is both comfortable and concealable.

Unlike a bellyband, the Kangaroo is designed to be worn just under the pectoral muscles, placing the gun under the arm opposite the strong hand, just like a conventional shoulder holster. Unlike most shoulder holsters, the Kangaroo is comfortable. The Kangaroo holster also has, unlike a bellyband, a shoulder strap to prevent the weight of the gun from pulling the holster down as a person moves. Walking, running, or jumping does not change the position of the weapon. It stays in place without the constant tugging and pulling required by a bellyband, which is a dead giveaway that the wearer is packing heat.

The holster built into the Kangaroo system is versatile, in that it will accommodate several different firearms. On the sample that I received, I have carried a five-shot Smith & Wesson .38 Special, a Ruger .357 SP101, a Glock model 19 9mm auto, a Kel-Tec .32, and a Bersa .380. All have carried securely in the same holster, and without any printing through my shirt.

Most concealment holsters require a loose untucked shirt or coat be worn to provide effective concealment. With the Kangaroo system, one can easily hide a firearm while wearing just about any attire that provides more coverage than a thong bikini. It is the perfect choice to wear under a t-shirt with a pair of shorts. Even a tucked-in shirt will not compromise concealment. A business suit is useful for hiding just about any holstered gun, but in most business environments, people tend to remove their coats from time to time. With the Kangaroo system, you can remove your coat at the office without having to remove your gun, and your co-workers will not know that you are packing. For a woman in business attire, the Kangaroo is the perfect way to carry a firearm. Having a gun in your purse is only good if you are constantly holding your purse. The Kangaroo places the firearm under the arm, and the natural contour of the breasts makes it much more concealable than any other method of carry on a woman’s body.

For a uniformed police officer, the Kangaroo system works extremely well for carrying a back-up piece, and can be worn over a bullet resistant vest. It gets the back-up gun out of the pocket, and makes it easy to reach when seated in a vehicle or a chair. For undercover officers, it allows the carry of a powerful firearm, even if working the beach in swimming trunks and a t-shirt. There is a square pocket just behind the holster for carrying an identification card or driver’s license. The Kangaroo also makes it much easier to reach the weapon than if it was in an ankle holster. If I were a uniformed police officer, the Kangaroo with a .38 revolver would be part of my daily attire. It is also perfect for an off-duty officer to slip on late at night for a run down to the local Stop-and-Rob for a gallon of milk. You never know when you’ll run across that punk you busted last week who takes such things personally.

With the welcome proliferation of people obtaining permits to carry concealed, many are not doing so on a regular basis due to the problem of hiding the weapon. Many leave their gun locked in the car. If you cannot reach your weapon, it is of no good to you. The Kangaroo shoulder holster allows you to carry a concealed handgun with you at all times, comfortably. They are available in either right or left-handed versions, and are sized to fit your body. It is the most comfortable way to go armed, regardless of your attire. It is perfect at the beach or at the office. It works very well when seated in a car, on a bike, or in a restaurant booth. Your gun doesn’t show when you bend forward or reach for something, as it can with a hip holster. The Kangaroo holster is built very well and contains no dyes to irritate the skin. It is also priced at under 27 bucks.

Kangaroo Industries offers other specialized models in addition to the basic Undercover/Off Duty model.

I would recommend the Kangaroo Carry Holster any day

I have been using the Kangaroo Holster and I must let you know how pleased I am. I hardly know I am wearing it. It conceals my Sig 380 quite well. Before Kangaroo Carry I used to wear a belly band. I would recommend the Kangaroo Carry Holster any day, especially for a petite lady who enjoys wearing her dresses and skirts!

P.S. Also, thank you for all your fast replies.

What could be easier? Fantastic!

I wore the holster all day today packing a 1911 and it was amazing. I have a paddle holster, a belt holster for the small of the back, and even an inside the pant model. None of them even come close by comparison. Driving, walking, even running ( I checked), this holster was almost non-existent. Extremely light and comfortable, I feel that I can now carry in virtually any situation. If I'm wearing a jacket, as I was today, I wear it over my shirt. No jacket, I'll wear it under my shirt. What could be easier? Fantastic!

This worked exactly as advertised

"I was looking for a solution to carry a 380 while jogging. The Micro380 worked perfectly. I went for a run this morning and I was worried that the gun would move or come lose but it did not. I wore the holster over a tshirt with a sweatshirt over the top. The gun stayed in place the entire time and it had other pockets to carry my CCW license and a spare magazine. I would highly recommend this product for any form of concealed carry. If it is comfortable while jogging, then it will work for most any application. I am now placing an order for the Air Marshall to handle my larger pistols. Thank you Kangaroo for putting out such a wonderful product."

...the most comfortable way to go armed

[Original review at Gunblast.com]

It stays in place without the constant tugging and pulling required by a bellyband, which is a dead giveaway that the wearer is packing heat.

...it worked amazingly well!!

Ok, so I got the holster in yesterday and wore it for the first time last night on duty, and I must say it worked amazingly well!! It stayed in place all night and as the night went on I only noticed it was there when I would index it! So great work with the holster and I will be recommending it to other officers that carry back ups. On a side note the extra Velcro from the extension actually stuck to some Velcro on the vest just made it that much more stable. Thanks for all the help and sending that holster my way!

...I had forgotten that I was wearing a 357

[Original review posted at CarryConcealed.net]

While I have been a CCW permit holder for many years, I have made several mistakes when buying guns and holsters for concealed carry. First I went and found the biggest gun I could comfortably shoot and then tried to hide it. I prefer to carry my Springfield Arms 1911 in a shoulder rig for comfort. This does not lend itself to comfortable wearing during the summer months. So during the warmer months I have settled on a Taurus 357 with a two-inch barrel for most occasions.

I was teaching a CCW class and decided to try out the Kangaroo to see if I could wear it all day through work. It is a wide, comfortable, strap that fits around your chest right above the stomach area. When you order the holster you need to specify the gun and model type and your chest measurements. It has a shoulder strap on one side and has one pouch for the gun under the arm. Some of the models have two pouches, one the gun and one for more ammunition or handcuffs. There is even a model called the "Traveler" that is to hold passports and or money while traveling in other countries. I was surprised to find out that the Kangaroo had been so comfortable that I had forgotten that I was wearing a 357. I have been wearing the Kangaroo for several weeks and I am very pleased with the comfort of design. I am planning on buying several other Kangaroo’s for the other carry guns that I use.

My wife tried it on and used her S&W 38. She was also very pleased with the comfort of the holster but was not sure if she would wear it every day.

Great Product – order several today.

One of my good friends writes:

Good friends of mine ask me to use a Kangaroo off-duty concealed carry holster and give him my opinion on the contraption. When I first saw it in the package I thought it was an Ace bandage and I had my doubts about this cloth band with Velcro lasting more than a day. I'm a pretty big ole boy and it is hard to find a shoulder holster that fits and is still comfortable. I strapped the old Kangaroo on; then slid my P-145 auto in the holder under my arm and put on a loose fitting summer shirt over the rig.

As the hot summer day wore on I forgot I was wearing a holster under my shirt. You can still feel the weight of the weapon under your arm but the device fits around your chest and is secured by adjustable Velcro fastener strips. The soft cloth material fits against your bare chest and over one shoulder so no clothes binding occurs. In the Oklahoma heat and humidity anything that touches your skin is going to get wet and dirty; this is not a problem because the rig is machine washable. I ran it through the washer and dryer and back on the next day without a problem. This soft shoulder holster from Kangaroo proved to be my favorite concealed carry rig. Take it from an old Vietnam Vet that has worn a shoulder holster for many years; you will be as happy to own this rig as I am.

Stoeger Cougar fits the Air Marshal "quite well"

Just received my new Kangaroo Carry shoulder holster. Faithful readers will recall I've been trying out several shoulder holsters of late. Each has their pros and cons but the Kangaroo is a different design and worth talking about. After visiting their web site and reviewing the products and videos, I was impressed. An E-mail query was quickly answered by the company owner.

My question was which model should I choose to house my PT709. He replied the Air Marshal model would be best. Not only would it be a good fit for the 709; it would also hold larger pistols. (The web site says the Air Marshal has a slight cant, making it a bit harder to conceal.) So I placed my order and five days later it's here. I'm not going to try to describe it. That's best done with the pics and videos on the website: www.kangaroocarry.com

What I can tell you at this point is that it took only about an hour of wearing it with the 709 before I felt very comfortable with it. The only problem is that the gun sits so well under my arm that I could probably never do a really quick draw. However, I realize very few situations are likely to be 'wild west' confrontations: you see or feel trouble coming; you open your shirt or coat and put your hand on the weapon.

Then I decided to test the second point the owner made in his reply. When I first picked up the Stoeger Cougar with loaded magazine, my thought was "No way am I going to carry this."

Surprise! It fit the Kangeroo holster quite well and the slight cant and the longer grip of the pistol situate it to where I can get my fingers around the butt very quick. The wide straps of the Kangeroo distribute the weight well and, if I need to balance myself, the stong side of the holster has pouches for two magazines. So I put on an untucked Dickies work shirt (I'm wearing the holster over a T-shirt, though you can wear it next to skin), checked myself in the mirror and saw only a very slight print of the gun butt - not enough to arouse suspicion unless someone is actively looking for such bulges.

For the next few days I'll wear the holster several hours each day, getting myself accustomed to the weight. The real test will come when I wear it to a family gathering on Christmas Eve - especially so since most of the family members are gun owners with (or pending) CC permits.
